Typically, it’s recommended that asbestos testing or surveys be conducted before you begin a renovation or demolition project on your property. If asbestos is discovered once the renovation has already begun, you will need to stop until asbestos removal is carried out and the site is certified safe once more.
Asbestos was widely used in construction before the mid-1980s, so if your commercial or residential building dates back to that period, it’s wise to schedule an inspection
Licenced professionals collect samples in controlled conditions so the material does not pose an additional threat to the residents of the property. The samples are tested at a laboratory that has the necessary equipment and certifications for asbestos testing. If the material is not asbestos, you will receive a clearance certification. However, if it is asbestos, we will then proceed to assess the best course of action.
Before removal, we complete all required documentation and health and safety assessments. This is to ensure that all precautions are taken throughout the removal process. Not only for the occupants of the house but for the safety of our asbestos removal specialists as well.
Once the asbestos has been removed from the structure and any air-borne particles are taken care of as well, testing is conducted once more. Even the air quality is tested to ensure it is safe for habitation again.
The initial sampling and testing of suspected material will take approximately three days. Our TechClean professionals will give you a timeline if asbestos removal is necessary.
